Bosses are sceptical about the merits of introducing the new model, as the Verso accounted for only six per cent of last year"s Yaris sales in Britain. A Toyota spokesman said: "While the new Yaris line-up is yet to be confirmed, it"s unlikely the Verso will be part of the UK range."

Councillors are using Section 147A of the Highways Act, which states it is an offence to sell anything from a stall, container or vehicle that causes danger on the road or interrupts road users.
Mike Moore, boss of environmental services for North Yorks council, said: "A lot of main roads have these businesses located along them. Some snack bars pose a hazard to highway users, both as a distraction and via sudden and unnecessary vehicle manoeuvres to access the service."
Officials say inappropriate use of lay-bys will be stopped - especially when customers have to park on main roads to use the café. Others could be charged for a licence to run their bar at a specific location, which would then allow local councils to monitor their operation.
Unauthorised roadside signs advertising snack bars will also be targeted.
