Drivers could soon be stepping back in time to the golden age of motoring when petrol station attendants topped up the fuel tank and cleaned your windscreen and headlights.
The American-style service is being piloted at Shell filling stations around the UK. Imran Akram, who runs garages in Bolton, Lancs, said the initiative has already proved a big hit. “People have absolutely loved it,” he explained. The service is being trialled from 10am-6pm, Friday to Sunday.
