Alfa"s 159 won the Best...
Alfa"s 159 won the Best Design prize, with the chairman of judges George Emmerson commenting: "It"s a tough marketplace and Alfa is pitching for very high stakes with the 159. But it just looks wonderful, and it"s a great car to drive as well."
Even if you own a brand...
Even if you own a brand new car, the cabin will soon fall victim to everyday dirt and dust. There is a huge choice of products available to keep the grime at bay, and Nielsen’s Interior Trim Cleaner is the latest arrival. So we put it through its paces.
We covered a section of plastic trim with dried fruit juice, chocolate and grease, and applied the cleaner as directed – the 500ml trigger spray bottle makes this easy. But we wiped it only gently with a cloth to see exactly how it performed.
The product made light work of the juice and grease, although the ground-in chocolate stains were more of a struggle. What’s more, while the Interior Trim Cleaner has a refreshing smell, it leaves a matt finish on your trim, which won’t suit all tastes. However, the manufacturer claims that the formula conditions and restores the upholstery, and provides an anti-static finish.
While the new treatment performs well, it’s not as capable as the Comma Interior Cleaner – the top choice in Auto Express’s Product Honours 2007. The Nielsen also costs ?1.29 more than its rival, yet the pack is 200ml smaller.
