The move is being led by Supt John Hammond of the Sussex force, who heads a police technology group examining the idea. The remote control devices are already available, and are similar to the telemetry used in Formula One.

It will offer the most luxurious Porsche experience ever, and have a price tag of around í‚á£100,000 to match. The styling will take cues from the 911 at the front, with a slightly lower roofline and dramatically curved glass areas. Bosses have released this early teaser design study to give a hint of what to expect.

The cool idea (image) is the work of UK science firm Qinetiq, and can also detect if you are sitting close to the wheel. It will be used in the US where new laws require cars to detect the driver"s position for safer airbag use.
