Five hundred Skoda fans...

Five hundred Skoda fans are getting the chance to snap up a limited-edition version of the Octavia vRS ò€“ and the best bit is the company will pay the VAT!

Each car is based on the already upgraded 2009 model, but gets a host of additional features worth more than Ò£1,900. The Czech company has added only Ò£750 to the list price, but then knocked the 15 per cent VAT off. It means the 500 cars start from Ò£16,294, which is Ò£1,700 less than a standard vRS.

The extra features include new seats finished in Italian leather, a unique grey metallic paint, 18-inch alloy wheels and an uprated touchscreen audio unit. Thereò€™s also revised interior trim and limited-edition badging on the rear door. Standard kit already includes dual-zone climate control and cruise control. Thereò€™s a choice of three models ò€“ the 2.0-litre FSI 200bhp petrol hatchback or the 2.0-litre TDI 170bhp diesel as a hatchback or estate.

A spokesman said: ò€œThe vRS is already astonishingly good, and for a select number of drivers weò€™ve made it even better.
