The final piece of Britain"s last single-track trunk road is to be made into a two-lane highway at a cost of í‚á£16million. The four-mile section of the main route from Fort William to Mallaig in the Scottish Highlands is a narrow, winding highway used by a variety of traffic including tourist buses. It even has passing places where the road gets especially narrow.

Renault has revealed...

Renault has revealed prices for its all-new Laguna Coupé range. The entry-level 2.0 dCi 150 starts at Ò£20,995, and comes with 18-inch alloys, eight airbags and dual-zone climate control as standard. The cheapest petrol variant is the 2.0-litre Turbo 205, which weighs in at Ò£22,345 ò€“ thatò€™s Ò£6,805 less than the equivalent BMW 325i SE Coupé.

Fuel blockades could...

Fuel blockades could be back. The Scottish Road Haulage Association is urging members to protest at increasing pump prices. The Government is already under pressure to ease the burden on drivers by cancelling the tax increase announced in March"s Budget, which is due to be implemented on 1 September.
