Hi-tech equipment that takes control if the driver fails to react to an incident is to be tested on a Mercedes. It uses an on-board digital camera and radar detectors to work out if the brakes need to be automatically applied. The Norwegian scientists behind the system believe the safety-boosting device could be available in the next few years.
