In issue 871, we revealed...

In issue 871, we revealed how the one-off show car was flatly denied by Alfa"s UK staff. Then, last week, they changed their tune and admitted it did exist. And here it is.

The stunning roadster, complete with trademark curves and evocative grille, was unveiled to selected guests at the Pebble Beach classic car show in California. As one of the featured manufacturers at this year"s event, Alfa Romeo was required to exhibit a previously unseen concept vehicle - and this is what it chose.

There are no plans to build Coup탩 or Spider versions of the two-seater. But, as we revealed in Issue 870 after finding the firm"s product schedule online, a "future high-end range" is due in 2008. Closer links with sister brand Maserati are also expected to ease Alfa entry to the luxury sports market, so there"s clearly scope for a model inspired by the 8c concepts.
