Instead of starting with a cautious 100-model run as reported in Issue 950, the Austrian brand has decided to increase output to 1,000 models a year as soon as possible.

After the Geneva Motor Show in March, KTM was inundated with enquiries and has already received 600 orders. "In the years to follow, we expect sales volumes of more than 500 units a year," said KTM boss Stefan Pierer. The manufacturer will use the Magna Steyr factory in Graz to build the cars when produc÷tion begins in early 2008. Deli÷veries are due from February. KTM hopes to make the first 100 special editions with exclusive plaques. Powered by Audi"s 220bhp 2.0-litre TT engine - with a choice of six-speed manual or S tronic sequential transmissions - the X-Bow is set to cover 0-62mph in less than four seconds.
