A new front bumper and huge 20-inch alloy wheels add visual muscle, while the cabin has also been revised with black and red Brabus-badged leather. Mechanically, the only modification is a hi-tech self-locking differential, to give the car an even more fiery character and greater traction. Brabus also offers a Racing kit, with extensive engine upgrades and a new exhaust system to boost power from 626bhp to 651bhp. It makes the SLR illegal for road use, but cuts the 0-60mph time by six per cent to 3.6 seconds.

It"s based on a Chinese car called the Hafei Lobo - which was originally styled by Pininfarina - but the Sutera has been revised for Europe with a tweaked exterior and suspension settings tuned by Lotus. Under the bonnet lies a 65bhp, 1.1-litre four-cylinder engine mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
Inside, there"s a centrally mounted instrument pod and lots of space, thanks to a tall roof.
Entry-level GS models get power-steering, an MP3-compatible CD player and alloy wheels, while GSi versions add parking sensors. All cars feature driver and passenger airbags. The Sutera will be sold through the IM Group, which also imports Subaru, Daihatsu and Isuzu ranges.
