British vehicle designer Gerry McGovern is to head a new concept car studio for Aston Martin, Jaguar and Land Rover. McGovern, who penned the MGF and Freelander, was most recently in charge of Ford"s London styling studio, Ingeni, but it has been closed down in a round of cost-cutting. His new job will be based at Gaydon, Warks.

The Mark X - pronounced Mark 10 - is the first two-door convertible concept the company has built to feature an electric folding hard-top. Meanwhile, the Aviator is a new version of Lincoln"s popular SUV. Finally, there was the Mark LT, which is claimed to be the world"s first luxury pick-up.
