New cars are nearly...

New cars are nearly 13 per cent more expensive than three years ago. In 2003, the average price of a Ford Focus was ÷£14,192, but in 2006 this has risen to ÷£15,938. That’s a jump of ÷£1,746, which works out to six times the rate of inflation.

AUDI has introduced FSI technology to its V8-powered A6 and A8 models. Prices start at ÷£44,475 for the 4.2-litre A6 saloon and rise to ÷£61,685 for the 4.2-litre A8. Orders are being taken now, with the first deliveries expected next month.

FORGET Morris Garages, it looks as if the MG acronym stands for something completely different! Under the ownership of Chinese giant Nanjing, the British marque has been rebranded, and MG now stands for ‘Modern Gentleman’.
