The newcomer is set to debut at the Geneva Motor Show next March, and will be looking to continue the Polo"s well established role as the supermini with the image all other car manufacturers aspire to. The excellent residual values, superb build quality and smart, chunky styling make the current model a hit and maintain the solid reputation the Polo has enjoyed for nearly a decade.

Not expected to make its first public appearance in the metal until the Paris Motor Show in September, we"ve uncovered these small images of the SLK55 AMG. The new car promises staggering performance; boasting a 5.4-litre V8 with 360bhp, it will easily outgun its closest rivals from Porsche and BMW.
It"s a normally aspirated version of the same engine that is already in the CLK55, and engineers reckon it has a 0-60mph time of 4.9 seconds. The top speed is limited to 155mph, but composite ceramic brakes and stiff suspension will ensure owners get the most out of their cars.
The new-look SLK has borrowed much of its technology from the bigger SL, plus the firm"s SLR flagship. Its Varioroof was first seen on the SL and is an improvement on the original SLK"s folding hard-top. This means the car will have greater luggage space and a bigger fuel tank. Meanwhile, the four exhaust pipes emphasise the AMG version"s performance nature. The SLK55 AMG won"t go on sale here until next year, priced around í‚á£50,000.
