On the road, the BladeRunner behaves like a normal truck but has a much tighter turning circle, as the wheels are fitted to "turnable" bogies at either end. It can carry goods, passengers or even act as a high-speed car transporter.
Inventor Carl Henderson of Richmond, North Yorkshire, said: "We"ve built a working scale model, and a prototype is planned for 2005."
