The final piece of Britain"s last single-track trunk road is to be made into a two-lane highway at a cost of í‚á£16million. The four-mile section of the main route from Fort William to Mallaig in the Scottish Highlands is a narrow, winding highway used by a variety of traffic including tourist buses. It even has passing places where the road gets especially narrow.

THE Energy Station serving the two Red Bull teams was too big for the Monaco paddock - so it was built on a barge and floated into the harbour. To construct the barge, bosses needed 45 trucks on top of the 25 that transport the Energy Station between races. It took 12 hours and a total of 7,000 man hours to put together.

The company reckons the newcomer is the first vehicle of its type to feature dual-fuel technology. It says it"s capable of high speeds and will appeal to people from both car and bike backgrounds.

Renault has revealed prices for its all-new Laguna Coupé range. The entry-level 2.0 dCi 150 starts at Ò£20,995, and comes with 18-inch alloys, eight airbags and dual-zone climate control as standard. The cheapest petrol variant is the 2.0-litre Turbo 205, which weighs in at Ò£22,345 ò€“ thatò€™s Ò£6,805 less than the equivalent BMW 325i SE Coupé.

Top GT spec, which has leather seats and four-wheel steering, costs Ò£27,445 in 3.5 V6 240 petrol guise, and comes only with an auto. The flagship 3.0 V6 dCi 235 diesel auto is Ò£27,995.
