But unless you"re determined...

But unless you"re determined to thoroughly depress yourself, I"d also urge you not to dwell on some of the shenanigans that occurred during the February just gone, particularly the end of it. Not content with pushing up the price of driving licences (and virtually everything else motoring-related), the Government is now said to be considering "recalling" from us those documents which entitle us to drive. Apparently, the idea is that because we"re responsible people whose details are in the infamous DVLA computer, we"ll be among the first to have identity cards foisted on us.

When it comes to the environment, if thereò€™s a WILL thereò€™s a way! Hyundai is readying an advanced hybrid concept for the Seoul Motor Show, which opens on 2 April, known as the BLUE-WILL.

Traffic congestion is costing the country up to í‚á£15billion a year - and company bosses don"t think it"s going to get better in the short term. A report by the British Chambers of Commerce said only two per cent of members thought that the Government"s transport proposals would prove effective.

Scooped at a customer clinic, the 9-6X was a product of General Motors" tie-up with Subaru, and based on the Japanese firm"s Tribeca off-roader.

It was due to debut at January"s Detroit Motor Show, but when GM sold its stake in Subaru to Toyota last week, the project was axed. With it went plans for a BMW 1-Series-rivalling hatch based on the new Impreza - revealed in Issue 878.

However, the good news is that a Saab SUV is still in the pipeline. Talking at the launch of the revised 9-5, boss Jan-Ake Jonsson told us: "You"ll see a crossover in the next two years." Similar in size to BMW"s X3, it"s likely to get a new twin-turbo V6 diesel which will power top-end Vauxhalls, too.

Meanwhile, a surprise Saab concept will debut at March"s Geneva expo. It"s thought to be a sports coup탩, but top brass are remain-ing tight-lipped. "It will be an exciting car," said Jonsson.
