The lightweight, motorcycle-inspired machine would slot into the compact sports car sector alongside models such as the Lotus Elise and Vauxhall VX220. The roadster has a small, high-revving engine sending power to the rear wheels via a six-speed transmission.

One camera captures the rear number plate on film, while another a few metres ahead takes a second image to show who was driving. The set-up will end the traditional excuse where motorists avoid conviction by saying they don"t remember who was driving at the time of the offence.
