THE Energy Station serving...

THE Energy Station serving the two Red Bull teams was too big for the Monaco paddock - so it was built on a barge and floated into the harbour. To construct the barge, bosses needed 45 trucks on top of the 25 that transport the Energy Station between races. It took 12 hours and a total of 7,000 man hours to put together.

McLAREN protégé Lewis Hamilton dominated the GP2 support race at Monaco. He now leads the championship by 10 points from Nelson Piquet Jr. Brit Adam Carroll retired with engine trouble.

RENAULT"S Giancarlo Fisichella was penalised for blocking David Coulthard during qualifying. The Italian lost his fifth-fastest qualifying time and was pushed back to ninth. DC"s Red Bull team reckoned he would have lined up fifth or sixth fastest, instead of ninth.

INDIA could be set to bid for a grand prix. There are rumours that a circuit is to be built in New Delhi as part of the preparations for the 2010 Commonwealth Games. The plans have ÷£500,000million of funding from the Government.

TYRE company chief Edouard Michelin has drowned in a boating accident in Brittany, France. The great, great nephew of company founder Andre Michelin, he had been picked by father Francois to take over the firm back in 1999.
