Get a load of this - the all-new Mitsubishi L200 pick-up. This is the double-cab Warrior version of the utility vehicle, which replaces the current model in March. The styling is inspired by the firm"s Pajero Evolution 4x4 rally-raid car, while it boasts a new 136bhp diesel engine. A power upgrade to boost output to 160bhp will also be available. Better on-road manners and a class-leading turning circle are on offer, too, with prices yet to be announced.

The answer is the AMS1...

The answer is the AMS1, an all-new exotic supercar. But this beast won"t break the bank - it costs only ÷£19,000. Weighing 900kg instead of the Subaru"s 1,350kg, the 2.0-litre 260bhp car hits 150mph and has a 0-60mph time of around four seconds.

Tom Taylor is a director of Adrenaline Motorsport in Newquay, Cornwall, which is behind the project. "We"re producing something that not only goes well, but excites the enthusiast. Our aim is to leave a big grin on the face of everyone who drives it."

Designed to be an everyday runabout rather than something for special occasions, donor Subarus are being sourced from both the UK and abroad. A stripped-out track day version with no roof and only a flyscreen is also available.

The AMS1 goes on sale in the summer, and will get a proper name "reflective of its character" according to Taylor. Enquiries have already come from as far afield as Australia.
