In issue 871, we revealed how the one-off show car was flatly denied by Alfa"s UK staff. Then, last week, they changed their tune and admitted it did exist. And here it is.

Has your car got spaceship...

Has your car got spaceship mileage, or do you only cover a few miles every week? Auto Express is looking for three-year-old models with very high or low mileage. And if you do the average 12,000 miles a year, we want to hear from you, too. Email ross_pinnock @dennis.co.uk with your details if you can help.

The curved styling is...

The curved styling is also important, as the firm"s design boss Patrick Le Qu탩ment explained that future Renault cars are likely to have similar flowing lines and simple interiors. Although it doesn"t look as though the Wind will be blowing into a showroom soon, Le Qu탩ment told Auto Express: "I love this type of car and have proposed building one before. But even though it"s a realistic proposition, the Wind isn"t the start of a production model."

Another innovative feature is the use of two radiators, which allow the roadster to have such a low front. This not only gives a sporty look, but could help designers comply with expected pedestrian protection rules. As with Renault"s other concept cars, the Wind is driveable. It"s built on the company"s new B platform, which underpins the Nissan Micra and will also be used by the next-generation Clio.

Under the bonnet is a 136bhp 2.0-litre engine mated to a six-speed gearbox, and the Wind does the 0-60mph dash in a respectable 8.5 seconds.

The newcomer will make its debut at next month"s Geneva Motor Show, where, insiders have suggested, it will appear alongside a second concept.
