This is the best idea yet of how a performance version of Mazda’s new 6 will look. The firm revealed the GT-M at the Tokyo Motor Show, and its shape hints at the next 6 MPS’s styling.
Deeper air intakes, large spotlights, side skirts, a rear diffuser and 18-inch alloy wheels give it a sporty profile. But while the GT-M gets a 167bhp 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine, the hot 6 is set to feature a turbocharged version with more than 280bhp.
Although Mazda hasn’t officially confirmed plans for an MPS, it’s rumoured that the flagship will arrive in 2009. In the meantime, the bodykit shown here will be an option on the entire 6 range.
