The Kustomizer, on cable TV channel Discovery, will follow the everyday life of "Big Daddy" Vini Bergeman, the owner of LA company Ultra Limousine.
This is the model that...
This is the model that until now has been known by the codename TRM, and the Malaysian-built five-door hatchback is designed and engineered by the British company. The sporty styling includes ground-hugging ride height, a short stumpy nose and a wing-shaped grille.
The car fits into the Proton range under the Gen2, and is the smallest model in the firm"s line-up. The maker claims the Savvy offers 20 per cent more cabin space than any of its class rivals. Load-lugging capacity is boosted by a fold-flat rear bench that creates extra room in the boot.
Two versions will arrive in UK dealers in the autumn. Spec levels have yet to be confirmed, although ABS will come as standard. Our sources say buyers will probably have to pay extra for air-con, alloys and a CD player. On the road, Lotus is said to have worked its magic on the ride and handling. Proton bosses boldly claim it will give buyers "a taste of what it"s like to drive one of the world"s best-handling vehicles".
Power will come from a 74bhp 1.2-litre petrol engine, with the choice of manual or automatic gearboxes. Prices have yet to be announced, but with key rivals set to include the Kia Picanto, Honda Jazz and Toyota Yaris, expect to pay around í‚á£7,000 for the entry-level model.
