Time to raid your savings! Volvo has revealed pricing and specs for its much anticipated new SUV, the XC60 ò€“ and you wonò€™t get much change out of Ò£25,000.
Three trim levels will be available ò€“ S, SE and SE Lux ò€“ with the line-up starting from Ò£24,750 and rising to Ò£28,750.
All variants can be specified with a choice of 161bhp four-cylinder or 182bhp D5 turbodiesel engines. In addition, buyers of the SE and SE Lux models can opt for the turbocharged T6 petrol powerplant, which delivers 281bhp. Standard equipment is generous across the new range, with even the entry-level XC60 S getting 17-inch alloys, electronic climate control and an MP3-compatible stereo.
SE models also get a Hill Descent Control system, plus electric seats and powered door mirrors, while SE Lux versions add 18-inch alloys, parking sensors and active headlamps. A panoramic glass roof can be specified as an optional extra on all cars. When it arrives in showrooms here in October, the XC60 will battle it out in the growing premium compact SUV market with the forthcoming Audi Q5 and established class rivals such as the BMW X3 and Land Rover Freelander.
The car can be seen for the first time on UK soil at the Canary Wharf Motor Expo in London, which runs until 15 June.
