Toyota has announced prices for its Aygo city car - and they start at í‚á£6,745 for the 1.0-litre three-door. The Plus range costs from í‚á£7,245, while the flagship Sport model is í‚á£7,745 for the three-door and í‚á£7,995 for the five-door. Metallic paint costs í‚á£325 and air-con is í‚á£500 on the two higher trim levels. An MMT clutchless manual gearbox is í‚á£500 extra on any car.

What"s the performance...

What"s the performance car badge to watch out for in 2007? That"ll be VXR8. While Vauxhall is yet to officially announce the name of its new V8-powered sports model, Auto Express has learned that the firm"s replacement for the Monaro coupé will be called the VXR8.

Driven in Holden Commodore SS V guise in Issue 942, the new model will be a modified version of the Australian saloon. The VXR8 will produce around 400bhp in entry-level form, with tuned variants offering even more power. On sale in the summer, the four-door is expected to cost from around ÷£35,000.
