A new hotline to report dangerous roads in residential areas has been launched. Zak the Zebra"s line (0800 068 7780) is the brainchild of road safety charity Brake. It wants to take a list of dangerous routes to 10 Downing Street as part of Road Safety Week in November. The group is demanding more 20mph zones and better cycle lanes in busy areas.

The development team has also changed the gas mix to reduce dazzle for on-coming motorists, particularly in poor weather when light is reflected off a soaking road. As with the outgoing version, PIAA claims the bulbs, rated at 65/55 watts, deliver a light output equivalent to 110/100 watt lamps. Despite this increase in claimed performance, the bulbs are E marked and are legal to use on UK roads.
